Mr. Jeff Cox

Jeff Cox is a Senior Partner and the Global Leader for Mercer's M&A Transaction Services business. He has more than 25 years of experience developing and executing business and HR strategy.
Jeff has worked on over 500 M&A transactions advising both private equity and strategic buyers/sellers on a variety of people issues. He has particular expertise in:
- Global mergers and acquisitions
- Benefits pooling and financing
- Sales force performance
- Human capital strategy
- Health Care industry
- Food Service industry
Jeff has managed some of the firm’s largest global relationships during his tenure. Earlier in his career, he was Mercer's Midwest Growth Leader responsible for sales, marketing and sales operations in a 10-state region. Prior to joining Mercer, Jeff worked for Sodexo and Aramark in their respective healthcare divisions.
Jeff co-authored Mercer's 2016 People Risks in M&A Transactions Research Report. He co-authored the chapter on portfolio purchasing of employee benefits in the book The Operating Partner in Private Equity published by PEI in 2011. Jeff has been widely published and quoted in numerous industry journals and media outlets to include: The M&A Journal, Forbes, Directors and Boards, BRINK, Nikkei BizGate, The Deal, WorldatWork Journal, America Economía,The Best Practices of the Best Dealmakers Series, HR Executive, NACD Directorship and Valor Economico. He is a frequent speaker to the private equity industry.
In 2015, Jeff was on the judging panel for the M&A Advisor 40 under 40 Emerging Leaders Award.
He has a bachelor's degree in organizational management from Concordia University and a graduate degree in law from Loyola University Chicago Law School. He also completed the KMI Executive Program at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
