Mr. Doug H. Jackson

Douglas Jackson is a Managing Director and Co-Head of U.S. M&A for Greenhill & Co. 

He joined Greenhill in 2009 and was a co-founder of the Chicago office. 

Mr. Jackson has advised companies across a range of industries with a particular focus on general industrial companies. 

His advisory work covers the range of strategic and M&A matters including acquisitions, sales, divestitures, spin-offs, defense (both corporate and activist) and special committee assignments. 

Some of his recent transactions include Louis Berger’s sale to WSP Global for $435 million, McDermott International’s $6 billion merger with Chicago Bridge & Iron, American Axle & Manufacturing’s $3.3 billion acquisition of Metaldyne Performance Group, multiple transactions for Anixter International including its $825 million acquisition of HD Supply’s Power Solutions segment, its $420 million acquisition of Tri-Ed, and its $150 million acquisition of CSD and related companies, multiple transactions for A. O. Smith including the $875 million divestiture of its Electrical Products Company to Regal Beloit Corporation and the subsequent acquisitions of Lochinvar Corporation and Acquasana, Inc., Blount International, Inc. in connection with its sale to P2 Capital Partners and American Securities for $855 million, Lane Industries Incorporated in connection with its sale to Salini Impregilo, Spa, Ball Corporation in connection with its $8.5 billion acquisition of Rexam PLC and the subsequent $3.4 billion divestiture of selected assets to Ardagh Group S.A., Fluor Corporation in connection with its $1 billion joint venture with China Offshore Oil Engineering Co. Ltd (COOEC), Masco Corporation in connection with the spin-off of Top Build Inc., Pentair plc in connection with its $10.4 billion merger with Tyco Flow Control via a Reverse Morris Trust, and The Bemis Company’s $1.2 billion acquisition of Rio Tinto’s Alcan Packaging Food Americas division and its subsequent divestiture of selected assets required by the DOJ to Exopack Holdings.   

Mr. Jackson has also advised diverse clients such as Allegion, Willbros Group, Inc., NYK Lines, Dometic Group AB, Par Pacific Holdings, Guardian Industries, Bucyrus and Alcoa.

Prior to joining Greenhill, Mr. Jackson was a Managing Director at Lehman Brothers in the Global Mergers & Acquisitions Group focusing primarily on the Industrial sector and where he was head of the Special Committee Client Solutions team. 

Mr. Jackson began his banking career in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Banc of America, while beginning his advisory career as a corporate and securities attorney, most recently at Jenner & Block in Chicago. 

Doug received a BA from Brown University and a JD from Duke University School of Law.
